I am an atmospheric physicist with a keen interest in the functioning of our atmosphere and its interactions with other components of the Earth System. With my research group, we explore a wide range of climate extremes — from severe windstorms to temperature extremes and heavy precipitation. We take a holistic and interdisciplinary perspective, considering the physical drivers of the extremes, their predictability and their impacts, which are often mediated by us humans.
